Prolumia delivers rapid energy transition: IMC Amsterdam switches fully to sustainable LED lighting in just three months When the Integral Medical Center (IMC) in Amsterdam was unexpectedly required to comply with mandatory energy label C regulations for lighting, the complete transition from fluorescent (TL) to LED suddenly became urgent. Thanks to a decisive approach and seamless collaboration between Prolumia, Koninklijke Oosterberg, Elbouw Elektrotechniek, and property owner UMB Groep, the full lighting upgrade was completed within three months.
Smart lighting plan for both education and treatment spaces Prolumia developed a comprehensive lighting design tailored to the diverse functions within the IMC building, including classrooms, treatment rooms, lecture halls, corridors and sanitary areas. Key considerations were light output, uniformity and color temperature. The selected solutions consisted of Eco-Panel BL fixtures and Pro-Fusion LED downlights — high-quality luminaires that meet both educational and healthcare standards. With adjustable color temperatures (3,000 K – 6,000 K), the fixtures allow the lighting to be adapted to the needs of each lesson or treatment. Ultimately, IMC opted for 3,000 K, a warm light color that perfectly supports their practical teaching environment. A detailed lighting calculation was performed beforehand, ensuring that all rooms met the required standards immediately, without any need for further adjustments.
Efficient collaboration across the supply chain Thanks to Prolumia’s extensive stock, the fixtures were immediately available for delivery to wholesaler Koninklijke Oosterberg. Since IMC had limited storage space, Oosterberg supplied the fixtures floor by floor, allowing installer Elbouw Elektrotechniek to carry out the installation efficiently and according to schedule. A total of 130 Eco-Panel BL fixtures and 120 Pro-Fusion LED downlights were installed — a complete lighting transformation achieved in record time.
Result: a modern look with a warm character IMC is extremely pleased with the result: “Our building now has a modern appearance while retaining the warm and welcoming feel of the lighting. We are very happy with this improvement.”
