SenseLink: Wireless Grouping Sensor
Lighting that switches on automatically when occupancy is detected, dims in response to available daylight, and turns off when a space is vacant. All without additional cabling, without a separate controller, and without manual configuration per fixture.
SenseLink is the wireless grouping sensor by Prolumia, fully integrated into the luminaire. Suitable for new construction and renovation, scalable from a single stairwell to a complete residential complex or commercial office building.

What is SenseLink?
SenseLink is an integrated wireless grouping sensor for Prolumia LED luminaires. The sensor combines motion detection based on microwave technology, a photocell for daylight control, and an RF module for wireless group coupling. Everything is built into the luminaire: no visible hardware, no separate control panel, and no additional cabling.
Luminaires with SenseLink communicate with one another and are organised into groups that respond simultaneously. When a sensor within the group detects movement, all coupled luminaires switch on at the same time. Settings are synchronised across the entire group via the RF module with a single action on-site or via remote control.
The three components of SenseLink
Motion detection based on microwave technology
PIR sensors measure temperature differences and are therefore less reliable in environments with low or fluctuating temperatures, such as car parks, cold storage rooms, or outdoor applications. SenseLink uses microwave technology and detects movement by people and objects independently of ambient temperature. This ensures reliable performance in the real-world conditions contractors regularly encounter.
Integrated photocell for daylight control
The built-in photocell measures ambient light levels and regulates the lighting based on available daylight. The sensor can be configured as a threshold switch for dusk and dawn, so that lighting automatically activates at nightfall and deactivates when sufficient daylight is present. This reduces unnecessary energy consumption and extends the service life of the installation.
RF module for wireless group coupling and synchronisation
The RF module enables wireless communication between luminaires without the need for additional network or building automation infrastructure. Luminaires are organised into groups and operate in a master/slave configuration. Settings on the master luminaire, such as detection sensitivity, hold time, and dim values, are pushed to all coupled luminaires in the group with a single button press. This significantly reduces installation time and simplifies on-site commissioning.

The benefits of SenseLink for your project
SenseLink delivers measurable benefits at project level: lower operating costs, simpler installation, and a future-proof lighting infrastructure for your client.

Energy savings at installation level
Lighting that only operates where and when it is needed delivers a structural reduction in energy consumption. The combination of motion detection, daylight control, and dimming functionality can reduce the energy costs of a lighting installation by tens of percentage points compared to conventional switching. This is directly relevant for housing associations and building owners reporting on energy performance or working towards a near-zero energy building (NZEB) certification.
Suitable for renovation and retrofit projects
SenseLink communicates wirelessly and is therefore ideally suited to projects where rewiring is not feasible or desired. Luminaires are connected to the existing power circuit. No additional switching equipment, no network cabling, and no modifications to the cable infrastructure are required. This makes SenseLink a practical solution for ongoing renovation projects in residential complexes, car parks, and office buildings.
Predictive lighting control for complex environments
SenseLink supports corridor functionality and group control, enabling lighting to anticipate user movement. In a stairwell, lighting activates on the next floor before the user arrives. In a car park, a sensor group pre-illuminates the adjacent bay. This type of lighting control is standard in the specifications of commercial and residential construction projects, and can be achieved with SenseLink without any building automation system.
Fast installation and straightforward commissioning
Contractors configure SenseLink directly via the luminaires themselves, without additional software or configuration tools. Once configured on the master luminaire, all settings are synchronised wirelessly to the remaining luminaires in the group. This saves time on-site and reduces the risk of configuration errors on larger projects.
Application Areas
SenseLink is applicable across a wide range of project types. For each application, you will find a description of what SenseLink specifically delivers for the parties involved.
Communal areas in residential and care complexes
Stairwells, galleries, lift lobbies, and storage areas are spaces that residents use daily, but where continuously burning lighting generates unnecessarily high service costs. For housing associations and property managers, SenseLink offers a direct reduction in operating costs: lighting only activates when occupancy is detected, automatically returns to a dimmed standby level, and switches off entirely at daybreak. No complaints about dark corridors, no unnecessary consumption. Contractors benefit from the wireless coupling: luminaires in a gallery or stairwell are configured as a group without additional control equipment or extra cabling.
Renovation and retrofit projects
In renovation projects within existing property, rewiring the lighting infrastructure is often too costly or technically unfeasible. SenseLink communicates wirelessly and can be deployed on the existing power circuit, without modifications to the switching installation or the addition of control wiring. This makes the system attractive for contractors working on behalf of housing associations or property developers who are refurbishing a complex in phases. Installation and commissioning time is short, even for larger numbers of luminaires.
Office buildings and commercial properties
In office buildings, corridors, stairwells, and sanitary facilities are spaces where lighting is rarely controlled based on occupancy, even as energy costs continue to accumulate. Facilities managers and building owners working towards improved energy performance, including in the context of sustainability obligations, will find SenseLink an affordable and widely applicable solution. Contractors can roll out the system across multiple floors or wings on a project basis, with settings synchronised per zone.
Hotels, restaurants, and hospitality venues
In hotels and restaurants, lighting quality significantly shapes the guest experience, but lighting costs in non-public areas such as corridors, staff rooms, and sanitary facilities quietly accumulate. SenseLink enables lighting in these spaces to respond automatically to occupancy, without requiring any input from guests or staff. For project architects and technical advisors specifying a renovation or new-build project, SenseLink is an energy-responsible choice that can easily be included in a project specification.
Distribution centres, warehouses, and archive spaces
In logistics environments, the presence of personnel varies considerably across zones. Lighting that burns throughout the day while an aisle sits unused for hours generates direct and unnecessary energy costs. SenseLink activates lighting per zone based on movement and automatically reverts once the space is unoccupied. For project managers and facilities managers working on the sustainability of a logistics property portfolio, this represents a straightforward and quantifiable saving. The Pro-Aqua IV is also suitable for cold storage rooms and spaces with stringent hygiene or moisture requirements.
Car parks and outdoor access routes
Car parks and access routes demand lighting that performs reliably in low-temperature, high-humidity environments, while operating efficiently outside peak hours. SenseLink detects movement via microwave technology, independent of temperature differentials, and supports corridor functionality whereby lighting activates in the adjacent parking bay before a vehicle arrives. For property developers and car park operators, this combination of user convenience and demonstrable energy savings is straightforward to justify in procurement processes and sustainability reports.
